With its sophisticated décor and high quality, delectable culinary options, the new Alley Pond Sports Bar & Grill quickly dispels all preconceptions of what constitutes a “sports bar.” The cornerstone of the recently expanded Alley Pond Golf Center on Northern Boulevard at Cross Island Parkway, nestled at the edge of the Little Neck Bay and the northern tip of Alley Pond Park, this is a fun spot from which to watch the big game of the season on any of the nearly two dozen HD TVs, yet also so much more. The venue’s ambience, excellent food and ample parking make it the perfect choice for anything from a quick bite after hitting some balls on the driving range or playing miniature golf, to date night or brunch, family dinners or private parties, either within the vast dining room/bar area overlooking the driving range or outdoors in the sunshine, on the large deck and patio.
Food quality, flavor and presentation are top priorities at Alley Pond Sports Bar & Grill. The executive chef brings nearly three decades of experience at four-and five-star restaurants in Manhattan; his expertise is reflected in the eclectic menu, which encompasses everything from sliders, sandwiches, tacos, burgers and steaks to pastas, salads and many healthy choices like grilled cod or salmon.
The wine list is extensive and beer selections include 12 options on draft and 18 in bottles, with craft beers, lagers and organic beer prominent in the lineup.
Recently expanded and substantially upgraded, the Alley Pond Golf Center is sanctioned by and under contract with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Its very popular facilities attract everyone from serious golfers to miniature golf enthusiasts of all ages. Among the features are 72 indoor, temperature controlled, driving stalls; a golf simulator that replicates the PGA courses at Bethpage, Pebble Beach and Augusta (to name a few); a natural grass short game course; and miniature golf. Private sessions with pros are also available. Golf Center hours are 6am to 12am daily.
